Hundreds of youths gathered under makeshift tents to protest at Dharna Chowk on Lower Tank Bund Road on Wednesday, demanding that the State government issue recruitment notifications and announce a job calendar. Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) exam aspirants held placards demanding that the government keep its promise. The aspirants sat on the road holding placards with slogans such as “No job calendar, 2 lakh jobs at once”, “Job guarantees”, “Youth anger, danger to the government”, and “What happened to the promises, what happened to the jobs”. An aspirant at the protest, who did not wish to be named, said the prolonged uncertainty was wearing students down. A proper job calendar will at least give us clarity and help us plan our future,” the student said.
