In 2016, the Union embarked on a demonstration to press home their demands for better salaries. They, however, called off the strike after deciding to negotiate with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission. Other associations including the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) have embarked on strikes over unpaid allowances among others.
