more-inThe concessionaire of Thiruvananthapuram City Road Improvement Project (TCRIP) has petitioned the Minister for Public Works against the installation of space frame on the Kowdiar-Vellayambalam road for mounting highly sophisticated cameras to check racing and speeding. The concessionaire has also pointed out the aesthetic issues of space frame installed in the capital’s Rajpath. The space frame had not been designed properly and mild steel with aluminium colour had been used and it was an eyesore. The three-metre foundation normally given for installing Gantry Sign Board had not been provided by the executing agency for the space frame, the Minister was told. Experts say the cameras could have been mounted on a designed single pole instead of the space frame that stretches across the road.
