more-inActor, director and politician T. Rajendar, founder of the Latchiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, announced on Wednesday that he would take on an active role in politics. Addressing a press meet, Mr. Rajendar said he had decided to contest in the next assembly elections. Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, Periyar E.V. Mr. Rajendar further said that on the DMK head’s request, he had merged his party with it and worked for their prospects. Stating that he was confident of his political ambitions, Mr. Rajendar said he would take forward the legacies of Periyar, Annadurai, MGR and Jayalalithaa.
