Global telecom firm T-Mobile has kicked off its XR Accelerator programme aimed at collaborating with developers, startups, and entrepreneurs, the company announced on Tuesday. The programme will tap T-Mobile’s 5G and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform for developing immersive experiences on augmented reality (AR) smart glasses. Snapdragon Spaces Accelerator ProgrammeThe programme will tap Qualcomm experts to back solutions created on Snapdragon Spaces, where developers will build 3D-powered apps for AR devices and add features to existing apps. According to T-Mobile, the Accelerator program will provide Lenovo ThinkReality A3 smart glasses, which were the first to integrate Snapdragon Spaces. The news comes after the two firms struck a partnership for the Snapdragon Spaces openXR software developer kit (SDK), which facilitates the creation of immersive applications for developers.
