Stanley OparaThe attractive yield environment in 2017 for Treasury Bills is still prevalent in 2018, Meristem analysts has said in a recent report. The Central Bank of Nigeria is scheduled to hold a T-Bills Primary Market Auction for 2018 on January 31. T-Bills worth N252.88bn will mature, while an equal amount is expected to be issued in 91-day, 182-day and 364day instruments. The three-month (2.28 per cent) was the least attractive instrument, the one-month (+ 1.11 per cent), six-month (+0.18 per cent), nine-month (+0.13 per cent) and 12-month (+0.11 per cent) tenors also recorded yield advancements. Given this, we expect significant participation at the auction, with increased investor appetite for the longer tenors, as investors try to make the most off the currently attractive yield environment.”Copyright PUNCH.
