Türkiye, Libya sign economic memorandum after 17-year hiatus


The meeting was finalized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two sides, co-chaired by Libya’s minister of transport and JEC co-chair, Mohammed Shahoubi. Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said the meeting was concluded with the signing of the memorandum, in a post published on his X account. He added that Türkiye and Libya reaffirmed their shared will regarding planned cooperation across Libya’s land and maritime domains. The conclusion of the 22nd JEC meeting in Tripoli was framed by the minister as a renewal of momentum in bilateral economic cooperation following a 17-year pause in the convening of the commission.
