Only 24 hours after President Trump tweeted that there would be a “big price to pay” for the chemical attack in Syria, John Bolton strode into the White House for his first day as national security adviser. The appointment of the “hawk’s hawk” struck fear into many who have clashed with him over three decades in the foreign policy establishment.
