Synthetic drug case: ED asked to probe allegations against Bikramjit Singh Majithia

The court's directions came after Chandigarh based NGO Lawyers For Human Rights International (LFHRI) had moved an application in the court accusing Bikramjit Singh Majithia of having links with the synthetic drug cartel. Now when there is a new government in the state, the allegations should be probed," Navkiran Singh of Lawyers For Human Rights International (LFHRI) told India Today. The NGO had also told the court that Enforcement Directorate officer Niranjan Singh had summoned Bikramjit Singh Majithia for questioning. Senior Punjab and Haryana high court lawyer Anupam Gupta had also told the court that the Enforcement Directorate's findings point out that Bikramjit Singh Majithia is not innocent and his role should be proved. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has denied allegations that the Congress government has given a clean chit to Bikramjit Singh Majithia.
