Synthetic Substitute Of CBD Cure Seizures In RatsA non-intoxicating, synthetic analogue of CBD (cannabidiol) is effectual in curing seizures in rats, as per study by University of California’s chemists. The synthetic CBD substitute is simpler to purify as compared to a plant extract, removes the requirement to employ agricultural land for cultivation of hemp, and can avoid lawful complications with cannabis-associated goods. Mascal’s lab at UC Davis performed the work in association with scientists at the University of Reading. CBD is also being probed as a pharmaceutical element for conditions comprising epilepsy, anxiety, arthritis, and glaucoma. But since it arrives from extracts of hemp plants or cannabis, CBD poses lawful issues under federal law and in some states.
