Locked main gate of regional sub-director office of the Technical Education directorate in Sylhet Dhaka TribunePrime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the building of Technical Education directorate in 2013The regional sub-director office of the Technical Education directorate in Sylhet, has not seen the light of day even after the passage of five and a half years since its inauguration by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on September 17, 2013. Three second-year students of Sylhet Polytechnic Institute were waiting there to attend a class. After the construction, the building was handed over to the Directorate of Technical Education. According to the website, Bangladesh Technical Education directorate is a government board responsible for regulating and developing technical and vocational secondary education throughout Bangladesh. Among them, three are located in Sylhet division- Sylhet Polytechnic Institute, Moulvibazar Polytechnic Institute and Habiganj Polytechnic Institute.
