Heavy fog has blanketed Sydney on Wednesday morning, affecting traffic across the Australian city and causing lengthy delays at Sydney Airport. Delays at the domestic terminal were exceeding two hours at 9.30am (local time) as the fog continued to hang over the city. A Sydney Airport spokesman confirmed about 24 domestic flights had also been cancelled, and there were delays of about 30 minutes at the international terminal. People travelling out of Sydney Airport on Wednesday morning were advised to check with their airline for updated travel information. The Bureau of Meteorology issued a road weather alert for Sydney just after 5am as fog affected most suburbs in the city, advising motorists to "take extreme care" in the dangerous road conditions.
