The woman, who is now in her early 20s, said the swimmer walked into the bedroom after she had consensual sex with his friend, the Olympic swimmer Ieuan Lloyd, and raped her. The prosecuting barrister told Cardiff crown court the woman was passed on “as if she were chattel”. “We left his friend [Putland] in the club with another girl. “When he started taking off his clothes that’s when I texted my friend saying ‘Help something might happen,’” she said.
