All Zonal Railways have been instructed to observe "Rail Swachhta Saptah" from September 17 to 25. Railways will carry out an intensive cleanliness inspection of trains as part of a week- long campaign planned ahead of Swachh Bharat Divas on October 2. All Zonal Railways have been instructed to observe "Rail Swachhta Saptah" from September 17 to 25 and organise activities on the theme "Swachh Paryavaran, Swachh Stations, Swachh Railgaadi and Swachh Neer". An intensive inspection will be carried out to monitor cleanliness standards of toilets and bed linen in trains. Each Zonal Railway has been asked to prepare at least one video film on the theme of cleanliness.
