His observations about the news media living in a bubble are absolutely correct. Despite being an award-winning research student, I was ridiculed for predicting that Donald Trump could win the election. Academics love globalisation so much that they won’t allow themselves to see the mounting tsunami of anger that is sweeping the globe. People are tired of losing good jobs, working in menial jobs, enduring Somali jihadists settled in rural Minnesota with no way to know who they really are. Americans are tired of seeing their fellow man lose his head to a barbarian’s sword and, most of all, they’re tired of being told by some college professor or clueless journalist that they’re racist if they dare voice a complaint.
