The authorities have allegedly suspended the mobile banking accounts of students protesting at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) and stopped providing medical support to those on a fast-unto-death. They also alleged that five mobile banking accounts, to which university alumni would send nearly Tk2 lakh every day for food and treatment for around 3,000 protesters, have been suspended. “All of our mobile banking accounts have been closed. Meanwhile, mobile banking service bKash’s Head of Corporate Communications Shamsuddin Dalim said he has not received any complaints regarding this. Her removal as provost of the residential hall for female students was one of the principal demands of the students protesting on the campus.
