Suspensions and expulsions of boys from school linked to homelessnessIt is one of a number of recommendations about the need for reforms and additional supports in the education system for vulnerable young people, following research in Dublin into homeless men aged between 18 and 38. One key finding was the significant deterioration in their experience of education following the transition to post-primary school. Lead author Sarah Murphy said the report revealed "a range of preventable system failures in the Irish education system, which increase the risk of exclusion from the system... with knock-on impacts that heighten the risks of homelessness".
