Suspects in stabbing of Jeron Teng, 2 cagers face frustrated homicide raps

TWO suspects in the stabbing of three Philippine basketball players at a bar strip in Taguig City were charged with frustrated homicide and serious physical injuries, police said on Monday. “As of 4 p.m. Monday, charges have been filed,” Apolinario said, but did not provide more details on the case. Police said the suspects were able to stab the three bigger players because they were wearing ring knives during the altercation. Both Teng and Torres underwent operations at the nearby St. Luke’s Medical Center while Thomas Torres sustained injuries on his left arm that needed 11 stitches. All three were former players of the De La Salle Green Archers at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
