“The robbers opened fire on the policemen forcing them to retaliate. One robber, Billal Hossain, was hit by a bullet during the gunfight while the rest managed to flee the scene,” he said. The OC said Hossain was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead. The 45-year-old man was wanted in a number of police cases, according to the OC. Police later recovered one shotgun and five rounds of bullet from the spot, he added.
