A suspected robber has been killed in an alleged gunfight with police in Kushtia. The deceased is Mintu, 42, of Rajbari district. Khoksa OC Nazmul Huda said: “We conducted a drive in Shimulia Kuthibari area around 3:30am on Friday, on a tip-off that a group of robbers would attempt a burglary. In retaliation, police fired back that left Mintu injured while his cohorts managed to flee.”The OC said Mintu had been declared dead when taken to Khoksa Upazila Health Complex. Meanwhile, police recovered two firearms, two rounds of bullets, two machetes and a saw from the spot.
