The arrestee is Farid, alias Farid Commander, son of Saleh Ahmed hailing from South Tumchar village in Chargachi 9 union under Ramgati upazila of Lakshmipur district. The Coast Guard also recovered four guns, three rounds of bullets, and sharp weapons from his possession. Media Officer of Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander M Hamidul Islam confirmed the matter at a press conference held at Noakhali city’s circuit house around 9am on Tuesday. The Cost Guard officer said: “Farid has more than 22 cases filed against him—including for rape, murder, kidnapping, and robbery—with various police stations of Noakhali Sadar, Subarnachar, Hatia, and Lakshmipur.”Soon, another case for arms possession will be filed against him at the Hatia police station, the officer added.
