Suspected militants fire shots at RAB from hideout in Ashulia


The shots were fired after the law enforcers surrounded the house at Chourabali neighbourhood in Noyarhat on the outskirts of capital Dhaka around 1am on Sunday. "The suspected militants fired at least five shots at the RAB personnel," RAB-4 Commanding Officer Additional DIG Lutful Kabir told bdnews24.com over the phone from the scene. At around 4am, the RAB official said that "they would strengthen the operation after sunrise with reinforcements." The residents of the area were being evacuated, Ashulia Police Station OC Abdul Awal told bdnews24.com over the phone. The tin-roofed house under siege is owned by one 'Ibrahim', he said and added that a police team was also going to the site.
