Police have cordoned off a suspected militant hideout in Bamundi area of Meherpur’s Gangni upazila. Meherpur Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune: “We have surrounded a house near Bamundi Sugarcane Purchasing Centre from 10:30am Saturday on suspicion that a few militants are holed up in the second floor of the two-storey building.”He said the residents living in the ground floor were taken out by the police. “We are yet to start the operation,” said the police super.
