Police say three men aged 28, 29, and 56, and a 20-year-old woman were all charged in separate incidents. Halifax regional police had a busy Friday night arresting suspected impaired drivers, including one who was nabbed after crashing into a police cruiser. In one case police say an officer was assisting a broken down motorist and had his cruiser lights flashing when he was rear-ended. The officer was treated for minor injuries after he arrested the driver who hit him on impaired charges. Police say one of the male suspects had a blood-alcohol reading that was twice the legal limit, another was three times over the limit, and a third man was charged with refusing a breathalyzer, assaulting police, and also ticketed for having cannabis in his vehicle.
