Police were called on to the campus after reports of a suspicious bomb-like object (bottle) filled with petrol was found in front of the registrar’s room at the second floor of the university’s administrative building. “Whether it (bomb-like object) is a threat and the intent behind making it is being examined by bomb disposal experts,” said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hassan of Shahbagh police station. He said: “It is too early make any comments over the bomb-like object but detectives at this stage are not ruling out anything. A full and thorough investigation is likely to reveal who and what was the intent behind it.”Early views of investigators are that the bomb-like object is not linked to any terrorist motive, or otherwise.
