The police says the deceased—Budu Ali, 30—is a notorious drug trader of the area with several cases filed against him. Law enforcement claimed to have seized a locally made gun, 1kg of cannabis, and 20 bottles of phensedyl from the spot. "They found Budu's bullet-riddled body on the spot and sent him to Gangni Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead." The police claimed that drug traders or criminals used to die in "gunfights" with police, but now they are getting killed by shootings among themselves.
