Suspected cocaine found on Quezon shore

LUCENA CITY – A village watchman discovered a brick of suspected cocaine along the shore of Mauban town in Quezon province Monday morning, police said. The local police sent the package to the Quezon police headquarters in Camp Nakar in Lucena City for laboratory examination. In April last year, fishers from the island town of Perez, also in Lamon Bay, found a total of 28 kilos of cocaine, worth P280 million, and 16.5 liters of liquid chemical that could make about 13 kilos of cocaine worth P130 million. The five-kilogram device, similar to a buoy featuring a plastic neon orange top, contained a GPS (global positioning system) instrument and a packet of silica gel that kept moisture off.
