The militants also caused havoc at Korakora police station, but luckily all the police officers are said to be fine. Locals say over 20 gunmen attacked the mast before they were repulsed by officers manning the site. On Monday, Kenyan security agencies foiled another attack where suspected terrorists hijacked a car and kidnapped eight people. Before Covid-19 struck, the North Eastern region had seen an upsurge in terror attacks by the Somalia-based group.
