Events that began in Oamaru and resulted in a man allegedly leading police on a chase and eventually being bitten by a police dog in Dunedin brought the man before Judge Michael Crosbie. First before the court on the charges on Thursday, McLeod consented to being remanded in custody overnight. Yesterday, counsel John Westgate said McLeod was pleading not guilty "to everything that isn't a driving charge". He asked that on the driving charges, McLeod be remanded without plea. Declined bail, McLeod was remanded in custody to appear in the Oamaru District Court on November 13.
