Suspect involved in attack on Musharraf arrested: CTD
Authorities arrested another terror suspect involved in Peshawar Daewoo Terminal attackMANSEHRA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday claimed to have arrested a suspect behind the 2002 assassination attempt on former president Pervez Musharraf from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra, Express News reported. ATS commando martyred in operation against terrorists in PeshawarAuthorities claimed that the suspect, Azeem, belonged to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and had reportedly served as the outfit’s key member in Karachi, Swat and Shangla. Reports further suggested that Azeem is a prime accused in various terror attacks including the killing of SSP Chaudhry Aslam, 2002 assassination of American-Israeli journalist Daniel Pearl and the assassination of Maulana Izharul Haq Jhangvi. Officials arrested another terror suspect, Anwar, who belonged to the militant Islamic State (IS) group. He is an accused in the Peshawar Daewoo Terminal attack and is also suspected of murdering three police officials.
