Toronto police have charged a man with second degree murder after an assault victim died as a result of earlier injuries. The victim, an 87-year-old man, died July 2, after an alleged assault on Canada Day. An 80-year-old woman who tried to intervene was also allegedly assaulted. Iourii Starostion, initially charged with aggravated assault and mischief, had his charges upgraded to second degree murder on Monday.
