Mulliyaweli Police have arrested a man who had entered Sri Lanka illegally from India by sea. Police Media Spokesman, DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the suspect was arrested in the Mulliyaweli area on a tip off received by the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence. The man had left the Katunayake airport for Chennai, India in 2009, the police spokesman said. The man, who later lived in Nagapattinam, India, had entered Sri Lanka illegally on March 12, 2021 by sea. The suspect had been in hiding for about two and a half months, after which he was arrested by the police on intelligence information.
