A suspect with a stolen pickup truck in a police pursuit on Saturday, November 26, 2022, who then fled on foot after the stolen pickup truck he was driving was disabled by stop sticks, was apprehended Friday, December 2, 2022. A Spring Grove police officer about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, near State Park Road and Route 12, attempted to stop the driver of a 2005 Ford F–350 pickup truck, which was reported stolen. The driver of the pickup truck didn’t stop, but the rammed the police vehicle, and fled to Waukegan via Kenosha County, Wisconsin with the stolen vehicle. A person believed to have been a passenger in the pickup truck during the pursuit remained in the pickup truck, and was detained. The shortest route contained to Illinois is 19.9 miles between Route 12 and State Park Road Spring Grove, and Leith Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Waukegan.
