Patna: The BJP supports reservation in promotion for government jobs, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Wednesday at a party programme to mark the death anniversary of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. "It was during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in the Centre that an amendment in the Constitution had been done for giving reservation in promotions. Our party always supports uplift of Dalits whereas our political opponents spread canards against us on the reservation issue," Sushil Modi said. "The RJD and Congress government which preceded us had conducted these elections without giving reservation to Dalits," Sushil said. Buddhism, in fact, came up to reform the Hindu religion," the deputy chief minister said.
