More than half of surveyors expect their workload to decline in the next 12 months as the pandemic takes its toll on the construction sector. The 51pc of surveyors with a gloomy outlook compared to the 67pc of the professionals who in February expected their workloads to increase in the coming 12 months. The latest construction market monitor from the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland (SCSI) and PwC, shows that more than two-thirds of surveyors expect their profits to fall in the next year. Just 22pc of the 300 respondents in the survey done in June expect their business levels to rise in the coming 12 months. "The building, project management, quantity and planning surveyors who took part in this survey are very well placed to capture the expected pipeline activity over the next six to 12 months," he said.
