MANILA, Philippines — Graduates of the University of the Philippines are among the best performing fresh hires of over 600 companies last year, a survey conducted by employment portal Job Street showed. Business ( Article MRec ), pagematch: 1, sectionmatch: 1In assessing fresh hires, the survey showed that employers were impressed with the new hires’ willingness to learn, personal grooming, and effectiveness as a team player. However, respondents in the survey said they were not impressed with the fresh hires’ analytical skills, English language proficiency, and problem solving abilities. In terms of specific industries, PUP graduates were ranked as best new hires of companies in the business process outsourcing (BPO), retail, manufacturing, and real estate sectors. PUP, UP and UST were identified as the top three schools where the fresh hires of the companies covered in the survey came from.
