The Labour MP and his partner Tim Smith welcomed the birth of their baby boy via surrogate. The surrogate mother of Tāmati Coffey and Tim Smith's newborn son says delivering the baby felt like bringing him home. 31-year-old Natasha Dalziel gave birth to baby Tūtānekai​ at 2.45am on Wednesday morning last week at Te Awamutu Birthing Centre.
