The Met Office has forecast highs of 24°C in the mid-afternoon, making the county hotter than parts of Spain and north Africa and a whole 8°C higher than normal for this time of year. The good weather is set to continue into the weekend as well, reaching 21°C on both Saturday and Sunday (April 21 and 22). According to the Met Office, this is because high pressure over Europe will block our usual flow of cold air from the Atlantic.
