A serious incident involving several vehicles has resulted in a stretch of 72 Avenue being closed by police in Surrey, B.C. RCMP will only confirm they are investigating what they term a "serious collision" in the Newton area that happened around 6:30 p.m. PT on 72 Avenue. It's believed all of the collisions happened within minutes of each other at around 6:30 p.m. this evening. Police say multiple sections of 72 Avenue from about 140 Street to 152 Street will be closed for several hours overnight. Officers are asking drivers to avoid the area entirely while they investigate.
