Surrey RCMP are investigating the second apparent shooting homicide in the city in less than 24 hours after a victim died from gunshot wounds at around 7:30 p.m. Monday evening in the 11000-block of 148A street. Police say traffic will be affected for an unknown amount of time with 110 Avenue shut down for all traffic between 148 Street and 148A Street and all north and south bound traffic on 148A Street shut down to the north of 110 Avenue. Earlier in the day, police identified 19-year-old Harman Singh Dhesi as the victim of a deadly shooting Sunday night in the area of 137A Street and 90 Avenue. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called is working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section on both cases. A burning vehicle was found in the area of 176St and Ford Detour Rd in Pitt Meadows at 1:55am.
