On Saturday night I headed for the Imperial Hotel where a special surprise 70th birthday was being held for Jonathan Dennis from Dromiskin. Jonathan who recently retired as caretaker of St. Francis NS in Blackrock had no idea the party had been organised for him, he thought he was meeting up with his daughters Emma and Amy and boyfriend for a meal but when he got there a large crowd were there to help him to enjoy his party. I then caught up with sisters Stella and Simone Watters from Blackrock who were up for making the best of the party and wanted to wish Jonathan a very happy 70th. They were there on the night with Elaine O’Rourke from Inniskeen, Peter and Tina McGrane from Oaklawns who are colleagues at the school and were having a lovely time with Jonathan celebrating his 70th. Just arrived in to join the celebrations were Jonathan’s neighbours Margaret Mughal and Aisling Gernon both from Dromiskin who wanted to wish their neighbour all the best on his big night.
