Surat Thani governor Witchawut Jinto went to the Sri Surat Bridge and convinced Atthapong Wassana, 30, not to jump when he promised to look into his problems and would help solve them. The man was seen parking his pickup truck on the bridge at 7.30pm. He went to the edge of the bridge and threatened to jump. He complained that his seafood restaurant business flopped, a friend refused to return money that he had borrowed. The page claimed he needed to pay a fee to process a loan but he did not get the promised loan after paying the fee.
