Supremies reject appeal from anti-mask Goppers

abcnews.go.com/... WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected appeals from three Republican U.S. House members who challenged fines for not wearing face coverings on the House floor in 2021. The justices did not comment on leaving in place $500 fines issued in May 2021 to U.S. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ralph Norman of South Carolina.. . The fines were $500 for the first offense plus $2500 for each subsequent offense. “They take the money straight out of my checks,” Greene grumbled to right-wing podcaster and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on video.. . Greene was dinged $48,000 in fines as of last November and said in January that her fine tab was nearly $90,000.
