While the court partially accepted the appeal, it nonetheless preserved the death sentence against him in a majority verdict. A Muslim League leader in 1971, Kaiser was sentenced to death on Dec 23, 2014, after being found guilty of murder, arson, loot, rape and genocide in Brahmanbaria and Habiganj during wartime. The tribunal sentenced him to death on seven counts of charges, including the rapes of two women. Another count of charge that brought him the death sentence involved indiscriminate killing. In the appeals verdict, the top court also upheld Kaiser’s death sentence on the seven counts of charges.
