NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court collegium has decided to make public all its decisions regarding judicial appointments in the future. The collegium will also ascribe reasons for the decisions, a resolution passed on October 3 available on the SC website said.Karnataka high court judge Jayant Patel had recently quit when he was transferred as a junior judge to the Allahabad high court. "Former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association Dushyant Dave said: "This makes the process shrouded in mystery compliant with rule of law for the first time in three decades. "The resolution is passed to ensure transparency and yet maintain confidentiality in the collegium system," the collegium said. This is the second important step by the court since the collegium under former CJI KG Balakrishnan, bowing to public pressure made public assets of all judges.
