Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali made the call while chairing the annual ministerial meeting of the LDCs on Saturday at the UN headquarters in New York. The foreign ministry said Bangladesh’s chairmanship was “highly praised” in the meeting. The foreign minister also called upon the developed world to increase investment in the LDCs in the area of infrastructure, energy, agriculture, information and communication technology and skill development. He particularly stressed on investing on youths and women. Ministers, senior government and UN officials, and permanent representatives of the UN attended the meeting.
