SuperValu remains the largest grocery retailer in the country according to the latest Kantar Worldpanel survey, which reveals that the market is still growing despite continued price deflation. The value of the Irish grocery market increased by 2.2 per cent in the 12 weeks to the end of June, increasing the value of the sector to €2.37 billion — up €50 million on last year. SuperValu has 22.5 per cent of the market, followed by Tesco on 22 per cent, Dunnes Stores on 21.9 per cent, Lidl on 11.4 per cent and Aldi on 11.2 per cent.
