The Blues are now looking to play their final Super Rugby pre-season hitout against the Crusaders in Christchurch this weekend as they deal with a potential squeeze ahead of the kickoff of the competition proper. “Super Rugby Aotearoa is physically demanding and you need to get these boys’ bodies used to taking contact and the best way to do that are these pre-season fixtures. Hore was reluctant to speculate on the potential of Super Rugby Aotearoa being pushed back should restrictions remain in place post-Wednesday, but did concede a schedule rejig was part of contingency planning. The concerning part is the level of contact these players need to build them into the rigours of a tournament such as Super Rugby Aotearoa.
