Sunrisers Hyderabad vice-captain Abhishek Sharma was fined 25 per cent of his match fee and handed one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct, despite playing a key role in his team’s emphatic win over Kolkata Knight Riders. Abhishek was penalised for showing dissent at the TV umpire’s decision during the match. He admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.3 and accepted the match referee's sanction. His knock, which included four fours and four sixes, helped SRH secure their first win of IPL 2026 with a commanding 65-run victory. Abhishek disagreed with the decision and expressed his disappointment while walking off, leading to the sanction.
