Mamelodi Sundowns’ recruitment of Bolivian midfielder Erwin Saavedra and Ethiopian forward Abubeker Nasir Ahmed has further demonstrated how far and wide the champions have recruited in the PSL era years. Saavedra comes in all the way from central South America after Sundowns paid R10 million to entice him from Bolivar FC. Rising star Nasir has been snapped from Ethiopian Coffee SC and becomes the first Ethiopian to play for the club. Safranko had earned caps for his country before making the move to Chloorkop where he has five goals in 17 appearances. The Brazilians have had players from four continents and over 30 countries through the PSL years.
